Electronic Healthcare Systems, Inc. Implements System at Mobile County Health Department

Birmingham, AL – October 12, 2003, Electronic Healthcare Systems, Inc. (EHS) today announced the successful implementation of its integrated EMR and Practice Management Software, CareRevolution, at Mobile County Health Department (MCHD) in Mobile, Alabama. EHS is committed to providing solutions to the Public Health and Federal Qualified Health Care sector, with its unique and challenging requirements. With over 200 users and 45 providers at 18 locations, MCHD needed a solution that could handle its workload of over 70,000 encounters a year. With its world class technology and first rate staff, EHS was able to provide such a solution within the desired timeframe.

Vivian De Vivo, M.Ed., Director of Family Health Clinical Services at MCHD, says, “EHS has provided us with the best product and the best support we could ask for. Many of the systems we looked at simply did not meet all our requirements, but EHS worked with us and we now have a system that not only meets our needs on a daily basis but one that will allow us to provide greater care to our patients far into the future.”

CareRevolution is the ultimate software tool for the Public Health sector, providing a cost-effective, efficient way to meet county, state and federal reporting and billing guidelines. Data required for UDS, FQHC, Ryan White and other government-mandated programs is easily captured and conveyed in the required formats. Grant proposal writing is aided by a dynamic reporting tool that studies and analyzes the effectiveness of the healthcare programs based on clinical, financial and demographic data. For billing purposes, appropriate fee adjustments and copay calculations are performed automatically by the system, based on a sliding fee scale that takes into consideration household assessment information.

C.W. Johnson, head of Patient Billing, says, “Our implementation has gone great. Staff members have quickly learned the new system and our patient flow is better than ever. Plus, using the eSuperbill has increased our billing efficiency and improved our cash flow by significantly reducing the lag time from when the service was rendered until charges are posted into the system.”
